Competences
Knows how to follow the principles of infection control. Understands the importance of anatomy and physiology as part of nursing care. Understands and is able to implement the key measures and diagnostic examinations needed in nursing care. Is able to plan, implement and evaluate the individual care of the client/patient in inter-professional collaboration. Is familiar with nutritional recommendations for different target groups and is able to assess the nutritional status of the client/patient and identify a client/patient at risk of malnutrition.
Content
Microbiology and basics of asepsis; basics of anatomy and physiology; basics of immunology; central measures and diagnostic examinations in nursing care in accordance with the following FinCC 4.0 (Finnish Care Classification system) components: elimination, breathing, fluid balance, active daily functions and self-direction, nutrition, blood circulation.Grading 1-5.
The course will be implemented as a Nonstop course totally online.
The course must be enrolled no later than 2.6.2023. The period of completion of the course is 16.1.-31.7.2023.
You can get to the Moodle platform when you are accepted for the course in Loki/Peppi and signed into SAMK´s Moodle with SAMK ID. Moodle platform appears to you automatically.
Student will perform assignments and tests in their own schedule in Moodle. Performance requirements and retake possibilities are introduced in Moodle also.
Assignments must be submitted in Moodle no later than on 31.7.2023.
You must activate the SAMK-ID and @student.samk.fi email address to complete the course. After your enrolment has been processed, the Student Services Secretary will send you the activation instructions to the email you provided in the enrolment form.
All enrolments will be approved. You will get an automatic reply to the email address you provided in the electronic form. Check the spam.
Applications are processed in the next two weeks, but not processed during the summer break (July) or Christmas break. When your enrolment has been processed, the Student Services Secretary will send you a message with instructions on how to activate the SAMK student identifier to the email address you provided in the application form.
