Opintojakson kuvaus

The student is able to

• describe differences between virtual world and physical world
• identify business opportunities in the internet and networks
• apply an understanding of the internet society to build new markets
• combine business and information technology knowledge
• utilize opportunities of digitalization for business

Arviointikriteerit

• The course consists of 8 chapters.
• Each chapter contains a quiz. To achieve grade one, you do the quizzes.
• To achieve grade two, students also need to be active on the discussion forums.
• To achieve grade three there is a specific task, which you also need to do.
• To achieve grade four to (or) five, students will also need to return an essay. The essay should be written in English. The essays will be also peer reviewed.

Opintojakson työskentelytavat ja aikataulutus

• The course is a hop on hop off course. In the beginning all registered are encouraged and prompted to visit the online learning platform. After this the students can study at their own pace. Towards the end, the teacher will encourage students to get everything done in time.
• This course will start on 1.6.2024 and will end 15.12.2024. Note if you do assignment for grade 4 to 5, you need to submit that 15 days earlier to allow time for peer reviews.

The registration period to the course is extended so that you can register up to 1,5 months before the end of the course.

• The course has been designed to be time and place independent.
• Within the start and end times, the student can choose when to start and when to finish and when to study. Please make a plan to ensure that you allocate enough time for your studies.
• 1 credit is 27 hours of study. This is a five credit course. Plan to use time and you will get more out of the course.

Ilmoittautumistiedot

If you are studying at Centria, HAMK, Humak, Karelia, Lapland UAS, TAMK, Turku AMK, VAMK or XAMK

• enrol through your university’s student’s desktop (Pakki/Peppi)
• you can see the enrolment status on your PSP

Student from another UAS (if using Peppi/Pakki for cross-study enrolment is not possible)

• Select your home UAS from the list. If it is not there, you cannot register using the form.
• Write your personal identity number in the correct format on the form. An incompletely reported ID may prevent you from accessing the course.
• Fill in the email address of your home university on the enrolment form – entering a different email address does not entitle you to a study place. Make sure your address is spelled correctly.
• Make a note for yourself of which course you have enrolled for.
• Enrolment is binding. If you must cancel your enrolment, make room for another student by sending email to openuas@laurea.fi.
