Course description

This course is about human errors in nursing. Student get to know factors that are related to close call or error situations. Course can be completed totally independently. On Moodle platform is a Video story of a registered nurse who works in infectious diceases ward. Video tells her working days and student observes situations that can be related to human errors in nursing and affect to patient safety. Student writes learner’s diary based on his/ her observation, own experiences in nursing and evidence-based literature. There isn’t any contact lessons, or group works on this course.

Assessment criteria

Pass/ fail Pass – The student understands the principles and main concepts in patient safety. – The student does the assignment required for the online course. – The student reflects on the written assignment. – The student does uses evidence-based knowledge in the written assignment.
