Innovate Circular Economy and Sustainable Future

Course description

Working in multidisciplinary groups students innovate and develop solutions to company’s challenges in circular economy. The goal is to develop a sustainable future and a climate-positive business. Students use future and life oriented design, storytelling and circular economy tools and methods as a part of an innovation process.

Contents

  • Basics of Circular Economy (if student don´t have this competence)
  • Methods of circular economy and ecosystem level innovation
  • Business models of circular economy
  • Future and life oriented design, storytelling and innovation methods
  • Innovation challenge in circular economy to a company

Basics of business recommended.

Assessment criteria

Individual task (40%) Innovation team work (60%)

Assessment criteria – grade 1

  • Working in multidisciplinary groups students are able to innovate, develop and find solutions to company’s challenges of industry in circular economy
  • Students are able to make use of storytelling and circular economy tools and methods as a part of an innovation process

Assessment criteria – grade 3

  • Working in multidisciplinary groups is able to innovate, develop and find solutions to company’s challenges in circular economy
  • Is able to use of storytelling and circular economy tools and methods as a part of an innovation process
  • Is able to examine innovations taking into account circular economy

Assessment criteria – grade 5

  • Working in multidisciplinary groups is able to innovate, develop and find solutions to company’s challenges in circular economy
  • Is able to make use of storytelling and circular economy tools and methods as a part of an innovation process
  • Is able to examine innovations taking into account circular economy and company’s productivity
