Course description

In this course, you will learn the fundamentals of the Swedish language. After completing the course, you will be able to introduce yourself, talk about your family, hobbies, studies, and work. You will practice Swedish language related to shopping and dining, as well as language for traveling. You will become familiar with numbers, expressing time, personal pronouns, nouns, verbs, adjectives, word order and prepositions.

Contents

Vocabulary and phrases related to communicating information about yourself, your family, study, and work. Language related to shopping, dining and traveling. Basics of Swedish grammar.

 

Assessment criteria

Pass You can talk and write about yourself and your family, your hobbies, studies, and work. You can handle simple situations when shopping, dining out, and traveling. You have a basic understanding of the basics of Swedish language grammar.

Fail You did not meet the minimum requirements for passing the course.

Course way of working and time table

This course is conducted online. We will meet once a week at a pre-arranged time. The teaching will take place through Zoom. The support language used will be English.

Meeting Day and Time: Wednesdays at 16.30-18.00.

During the weekly lessons on Zoom, you will work on written and oral exercises both independently and in groups. You will also complete assignments, and the teacher will provide feedback on these.

Learning materials are available on the Moodle online learning platform and are produced by the teacher. or Rivstart A1/A2 Textbook and Workbook, chapters 1-7.
