Student defines the concept of coastal and maritime tourism and analyses its state of play as a sector of Blue Growth. Student compares demand and supply of coastal and marine locations and water-based activities. Student explains the importance of regulating, planning, and managing the sector and the impacts of climate change on tourism industry. Student explores responsibility and sustainability in coastal and maritime tourism. Classification of competence: Basic level.

Grading 1-5.
This is a non-stop 100% online course that is available 9.1.2023-30.11.2023 and studied at own pace without any scheduled lectures. There are five individual assignments (one is a Moodle exam) that are submitted 30.3.2023, 30.5.2023, 30.7.2023 or 30.11.2023. The final deadline for all assignments is 30 November 2023. After this date no assignments can be submitted and the course is closed. Teacher sends an email for students 9.1.2023 or/and when they are accepted for the course.
You must activate the SAMK-ID and @student.samk.fi email address to complete the course. After your enrolment has been processed, the Student Services Secretary will send you the activation instructions to the email you provided in the enrolment form.
All enrolments will be approved. You will get an automatic reply to the email address you provided in the electronic form. Check the spam.
Applications are processed in the next two weeks, but not processed during the summer break (July) or Christmas break. When your enrolment has been processed, the Student Services Secretary will send you a message with instructions on how to activate the SAMK student identifier to the email address you provided in the application form.
