Course description

After completing the course, the student have some beginning ideas on how to understand and negotiate business in East Asian countries China, Japan, in South Asia on India and some countries in South East Asia including Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam.

The student will  have some understanding of how to work with business managers in Asia, how to build business relationships in Asia, and how to understand and approach cultural differences that they may encounter

  1. Module: General features of Market and Business Cultures in East Asia, South Asia and South East Asia
  2. Module: East Asian market and business culture, China and Japan
  3. South Asian market and business culture, India
  4. South East Asian market and business culture, Thailand, Vietnam, Malesia and Indonesia

Assessment criteria

Grading scale: 0-5

The course has 10 assignments, which are evaluated separately. Tasks are generally evaluated on a scale of 0-5. For some assignments, the evaluation is passed/failed. The course grade is the average of the assignments.

Course way of working and time table

Course implementation is 100% online. The course is completed independently at your own pace. The teacher has also prepared a schedule for returning course assignments, but it is indicative to make the student’s work easier, all assignments must be returned by the end of the course.

Learning material and additional links are placed in the digital learning environment Itslearning. The student needs a computer and working internet access.

3 credits course requires approximately 81 hours of work.
