Course description

Learning outcomes and content:

Students will learn about

• the history and reality of climate change, and its impact on human systems
• climate change theory and climate science
• climate change as a sustainable development challenge
• knowledge and institutions for mitigating and adapting to climate change

In this course, students will become familiar with the close relationship between humans and the climate.

Course way of working and time table

Time- and location-independent online implementation. Students get to freely go through the material while the course is available. Students must complete the theory sections, and the exam.

Course additional info

The material from this course was utilized in the SSE2: Environmental and Technical Cycles course package. If you’ve already completed that package, we recommend that you don’t take this course, since it covers the same topics.

Course enrolment info

Students of the other UAS (Degree students and Open Studies’ path students): Enroll for the course via Ilmoittaudu/Enrol. Use your student email on the enrollment form. You will receive starting instructions immediately after registering and you can start to complete the course. If you can’t find starting instructions, please send email campusonline@lab.fi.
