Game Development Summer Studies

Course description

During the summer students must complete either 5, 10, or 15 credits. Students can choose from 4 different tracks to compile the desired credit amounts. The tracks are:

  • Published Game
  • Game Development Competition
  • Portfolio
  • Rapid Development

The course is completed totally remotely. There are coaches available for mentoring and help, but there is no teaching. Independency and proactivity is required as well as basic knowledge on programming, graphics, design and/or production. Course language is primarily English.

Content of the course

Creation of a game according to a previously approved project plan or creation of polished portfolio piece. Game is published in a marketplace or the development team participates in game development competition during the same year.

Prerequisites

Student has enough knowledge and skills to work as a producer, a designer, a programmer or an artist in a project independently or in a team.

Assessment criteria

Evaluation 5 – 0.

The student fulfills the required work hours and returns all required deliverables on time. In the team variations, the evaluations is also influenced by self- and peer reviews.

Course way of working and time table

The course is completed independently within 28.5.2024 – 14.8.2024 On Tuesday 28 May, the course has a kick-off lesson in Teams at 10 am.
