Course description

On completion of the course, the student knows how a company can use quantitative research in order to develop its operations, and is able to design and implement a quantitative research, interpret the research results, and evaluate the reliability of the research.

It is a Moodle online course, supported by own videos, which students can complete relatively independently (and thus, can join with various professional backgrounds). The pedagogy is based on the flipped classroom where all study materials and tasks are available in the learning environment. The teacher will be available online several times during the course for discussion and students’ questions.

Assignments outline: Students complete the course by solving problems; no exams. Moodle automatically evaluates the answers.

Assessment criteria

Sufficient performance: has completed basic requirements to pass the course and has made an attempt to apply and articulate concepts and information both verbally and in writing but has not made enough effort overall. The student has demonstrated little effort, interest and motivation for individual or team activities / assignments and the output is rather weak.

Good overall performance: can apply and articulate concepts and information well both verbally and in writing, certain areas of individual or team output require further attention; shows appropriate level of interest and motivation in individual and team activities. Good presentation delivery and analysis.

Excellent performance in all elements of the course: shows interest and motivation in individual and team activities and assignments, fully applies and clearly articulates concepts and information both verbally and in writing. The student is able to support his/her argument with references to the recommended reading and lecture content. Excellent presentation delivery and analysis.

The course is a non-stop online course. You can do it independently and at your own pace in Moodle learning environment. However, enough time must be allocated for independent study (for a 5-credit course, the student’s calculatory workload is 135 hours).
